WebThe range of blood ketone levels in patients with ketosis was 1.05–5.13 mmol/L, showing a huge variation of blood ketone levels even at a simple ketotic state. Five patients (21.7%) among 23 ketotic patients had a ketone level of 3 mmol/L or more. Careful interpretation of biochemical data is required to not miss DKA with atypical presentation
